Log Files
The Scarab Studio follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and are a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any personally identifiable information. The purpose of the information is to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement on the website, and gather demographic information.
Cookies and Web Beacons
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. We use them for three purposes, and you control each one separately.
Strictly necessary: these make the site work — page delivery, security, and remembering the cookie choice you make. They cannot be switched off and we do not ask consent for them.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they arrived. It is not used to identify you personally.
Advertising: Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and LinkedIn. These measure whether our campaigns work and let us show relevant ads to people who have visited the site.
Functionality: remembers preferences such as language.
How to choose, and how to change your mind: when you first visit, a banner asks you to accept everything, reject everything, or choose category by category. Your choice is stored on your own device and applied on every later visit. You can change it at any time using the Manage Cookies link at the bottom of any page.
What happens when you decline: we use Google Consent Mode v2 and Meta’s consent API. No analytics or advertising cookies are placed on your device, Google tags send only anonymous cookieless signals with no identifiers, and the Meta pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag do not fire at all.
Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland: analytics and advertising are denied by default and stay denied unless you actively allow them. Elsewhere they are allowed by default, and we honour a decline immediately and permanently on your device.
The third parties involved are Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads (policies.google.com/privacy), Meta (facebook.com/privacy/policy), LinkedIn (linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy), Mailchimp for our newsletter (intuit.com/privacy/statement) and Squarespace, who host this website (squarespace.com/privacy). We do not sell personal information.
